One-of-a-kind, pure silk, Mariana Hardwick Couture wedding dress bought in Australia in 2013.
Mariana Hardwick dresses sell for between $4500 and $8000 from the MH boutique and other shops. I lucked out and got this beautiful draped silk dress from her back-room sample sale for $2700, and it is one-of-a-kind as it was only ever a sample, and never went into production.
Worn once, and then professionally cleaned and preserved in acid-free tissue, and sealed preservation box, it is as good as new.
It’s an Australian size 10, which is a small Canadian size 6. I’m 5’3 and weighed 120 lbs when I wore it. I wore it with 3" kitten heels. Due to the way the silk is gathered at the back, it cannot be let out. There’s no train, but it is cut slightly longer in the back for a train effect. It can be hemmed.
It’s got a gorgeous, flowy drape from the centre back, and a classic ruched bodice and side. It’s constructed of 100% ivory silk georgette over a white cotton sateen under layer, and a minimal amount of soft crinoline underneath to provide a touch of fullness in the skirt. The natural fabrics make it cool and light for summer.
The pictures don’t do it justice. It deserves to be worn again. Letting it go for a low price as it is several years old, but in perfect, classic condition. As it has been stored in a preservation box (as shown) it will need steaming to take out the creases.
